Mad River Drift Logo

The Mad River mountain country of the Entiat River valley in Washington State gives the business its name. I picked Mad River to be my hobby farm title and naming prefix when I started registering llama crias in 2004 – and now for Mad River Drift, Gear & Country.

Landscape extremes, weather extremes – the technical clothing developed to meet the harshest, most challenging demands of the natural environments often excels for many other uses. This works the other way too, though. I’ve seen tons of mountain country wearing jeans and a cotton shirt when conditions and activities made it a good choice. The best ‘performance’ clothing, for any activity or leisure, is what you are most comfortable wearing. The same goes for the use of equipment and accessories.

The Mad River Gear page will have clothing, equipment, and accessories for outdoor recreation, leisure, chores, fitness, play, normal routine, sports, work, etc.. The Mad River Outdoor Sportsman/Sportswoman page will have hunting equipment and accessories, plus many of the same clothing items found on the other pages, but in colors and color combinations with very low visibility to animals if used for hunting. The Mad River Pack Llamas page will have llama equipment and accessories, plus MRPL clothing.
